Summer school ephemera collected by Hench includes invitations to watermelon parties, 1936, 1938; and a Skyline Drive and Grand Caverns tour, 1937; degree applicants list, 1936, with Hench's note that one failed English and was "out"; a letters to faculty from Charles G. Maphis re examination rules, final exercises, degree applicants1936-1938; clipings re Summer Chorus concert and Summer Quarter vesper service; programs from 1938 and 193[?] summer concerts. Also letters to faculty and students from George B. Zehmer re various rules and regulations, 1941; an information packet, 1946, containing registration card, payment receipts, library, directory and post office information cards and a special announcement that an acute housing shortage in Charlottesville necessitate that the 1946 summer quarter be held at Mary Washington College in Fredericksburg; an announcement from Zehmer, 1949, that Edward R. Slaughter will enforce regulations; a list of 1949 degree candidates; catalogue supplement, 1950; and notices and announcements from the 1955 session regarding class attendance, honor regulations, grades, final exercises, etc;
